Give Yourself a Break
"Morning Coffee"
8" x 10"
Giclee on canvas for $125
There are times when life seems like one struggle after another. Sometimes things happen that hurt. When I find myself feeling bewildered and sad I often like to take a day off and sit in a coffee shop and read or write in my journal and people watch. It helps to stop for a while and ask yourself, "what's going on, what is trying to happen here"? What is it that life is trying to teach me? What can I do to make things better and what is out of my control? Are there patterns that need to be changed?
They say that "crisis proceeds transformation", but I've found that if I don't transform, crisis just proceeds another crisis. Sometimes if things don't get worse, we don't grow and that can be very boring, painful even. So, perhaps its true what they also say, that "its all good".
What's "trying to happen" with you?

Reflections on the Gold Coast
Today is the first day of my new blog. I'm starting with a painting that I'm particularly fond of titled, "Reflections on the Gold Coast". I caught this image on my camera just minutes before the sun when down. That is a magical time of day when suddenly everything takes on one last "glow". I took out the boats that were behind it because they competed too much with the two sailboats. I put in the coast of La Jolla instead. The painting is about peace and companionship, a great combination when you can get it!
The painting is a watercolor sized 25" x 40" on Arches Paper. The original is sold, but I sell signed, limited edition giclees of the piece starting at $250.
Blessings to You,
Robin
